I’m a storyteller.

Originally from St. Louis and Southern Illinois (and quite proud of it), I tell stories through acting, writing, filmmaking and whatever other form possible. Growing up, I was a theatre kid performing in school plays and local community theatre productions throughout the St. Louis area, and I was heavily involved in my high school’s journalism program.

Anything’s Possible, my feature film debut, premiered this past July from Amazon Studios and MGM’s Orion Pictures. I star as Kelsa in Billy Porter’s directorial debut. Anything’s Possible is a coming-of-age romantic dramedy following Kelsa, a trans girl high school senior, and her love story with a shy, cis boy named Khal.

Recently, I was named one of Forbes’s Class of 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Hollywood & Entertainment category and one of Out magazine’s Out100. This past year I won a Peabody Award, a GLAAD Media Award and a NLGLA Award for my work as a correspondent and producer in the Vice News docu-series Transnational. I won alongside an amazing team including Hendrik Hinzel, Sarah Burke, Dan Ming, Alyza Enrique and so many other talented creatives. I hosted the premiere episode, “Love Us in the Light,” which uplifted the life of Detroit native Kelly Stough, a Black trans woman and member of the legendary House of Ebony, who was murdered by a local pastor. In 2021, I was mentored by renowned artist, filmmaker and author Tourmaline through the Queer|Art|Mentorship program. I have also been the keynote speaker for a number of academic institutions including Columbia University’s 2021 Transgender Awareness Week. Since moving to New York, I have written for publications like Vogue, The Cut, Highsnobiety and PAPER.

When not working, I’m probably reading a comic book or something about astrology (I’m a Gemini, in case you were wondering).

I am represented by Rebecca Lyle at Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Sheri Talkovsky at Buchwald Talent Agency.

Hey, I’m Eva.
